The Plant Trainer is responsible for high-quality training and upgrading programs for all personnel to ensure a consistently high level of competency in all plant service area.

Key Performance Areas

  • Conduct process operations training and development activities aimed at improving the performance of the processing plant by improving performance of employees through enhancing of knowledge and skills of process operations employees
  • Provide positive mentoring and support to the Process Operations Supervisors
  • Demonstrate and maintain a high level of Safety & Environmental awareness
  • Conduct theory and practical assessments in line with the assessment guideline.
  • Scheduling training events in Motheo Copper Mine as expected by the line manager.
  • Conduct field, classroom, and e-learning training
  • Supervise trainees that have reported for training
  • Conduct planned task observations
  • Ensuring training objectives are met
  • Submit daily activity training report to the Senior Plant Trainer
  • Carry out assessments and ensure issuance of relevant certifications after successful completion of the training
  • Conducting training needs assessment for operators
  • Manage both physical and electronic training records

Qualification & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Mineral Processing related field or Chemical Engineering
  • Tertiary qualification in Training and Development or related field
  • Registered as a Trainer & Assessor or equivalent
  • At least 3 years’ experience in process operations at operator or higher role (preferably in the mining industry)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in a mineral processing plant
  • Valid Light Duty Vehicles Driver’s License
