Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for the management of Site Business’ Services which include Human Resources, Procurement, Security, IT and Site Administration teams at the Motheo Mine Site.

Key Performance Areas

Directly manage and mentor Motheo’s Human Resources, Procurement. Security, IT and Site Administration team members in achieving operational KPIs.

  • Ensure administration support is provided to the General Manager and site management team as required.
  • Participate in developing of departmental budgets, cost tracking and reconciliations and ensure sufficient financial resources to meet business unit needs.
  • Overseeing special projects as assigned by management and tracking progress towards company goals.
  • Review and monitor administration systems and processes to ensure ongoing effectiveness to meet site requirements
  • Provide support and advice to the General Manager and site management team on all aspects of environmental management, including the management of impacts and change.
  • Liaise with HR in relation to Company required training and any external training requirements.
  • Injury Management systems including return-to-work programmes, liaising with HR and OHS Manager.
  • Monitor compliance by employees and contractors with regard to health and safety management plans and prepare and submit statutory and management reports on health and safety activities.
  • Provide reports for GM and Departmental Managers on action management (resolutions) as required.
  • Strategic planning and development of safety programmes and systems at Motheo Mine.
  • Facilitation & management of the Camp Management Services.
  • Provide leadership in auditing, risk and incident investigation.
  • Provide an efficient and effective on-boarding process that meets all site entry and commercial requirements.

Qualification & Experience

  • Degree/Masters qualification in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Lead Auditor
  • 10 years post qualification project experience, preferably in a mining environment or related environment.
  • Extensive leadership experience.
  • Proven track record experience in:
    • Administration, accounting & financial procedures
    • HR Practises & Botswana Labour Laws
    • Procurement / Purchasing logistics
    • Warehouse Management
    • Document Control
    • Auditing, risk management and incident investigation
